About "Guys and Dolls"

"Guys and Dolls" Brings Swingin' '40s to Life

Jam-packed with big, flashy numbers like "Luck Be a Lady" and "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat," it's no surprise "Time" magazine pronounced "Guys and Dolls" "the greatest of all American musicals." The Tony-winning musical is set in New York City during the swinging 1940s. The story follows Nathan Detroit, who turns to fellow gambler Sky Masterson for the cash to float the biggest craps game in town. When dolls -- especially a straitlaced missionary named Sarah Brown -- get involved, the term "high stakes" applies to both love and money.
