Day spas in Los Angeles are always in vogue, no matter what time of year or even what time of day it is. Whether it’s a full-body massage or a sea salt soak with Enya playing in the background (who else?), the spas of Los Angeles go out of their way to pamper, soothe, and spoil their guests like royalty. The best spas in Los Angeles combine upscale relaxation facilities, massage and saunas with beautification and personal care treatments that not only refresh but reinvigorate every cell and every muscle in the body.
The Beverly Hills Hotel Spa by La Prairie
If complete and utter unapologetic self-indulgence is the goal, then there’s no better place in the entire Los Angeles area than the Beverly Hills Hotel Spa. The renowned “Pink Palace” is regular celebrity destination, but the ultra luxurious treatments and specialty events provided at the spa get all of the attention. The 90-minute Platinum Rare Facial cost $410, but that’s a small price to pay for the million-dollar results. The Caviar Luxury for $475 allows for two and a half hours to indulge in delicious and rare types of imported caviar and delicacies. Pedicures are available for $115 for women and men. An added bonus is the cuisine at Polo Lounge, featuring traditional American fare with a SoCal twist. We recommend the Maine Lobster and Mango Salad or the Sirloin Burger.
Olympic Spa
The Olympic Spa in the heart of L.A.’s Koreatown is the perfect spot for looking for pampering on a budget. The spa is one of the few genuine Korean bathhouses in California, offering guests such options as acupressure, body treatments, beauty boutiques, skincare and Asian massage therapy. Very economically priced—a 100-minute massage costs $100—this spa in Los Angeles requires visitors to be fully nude. The might create some tentative feelings at the beginning, but the relaxing environment makes it easy to forget you’re not wearing anything. It might even feel a bit liberating.
The Spa at Terranea
The Terranea Resort offers a breathtaking opportunity to soak in the sun of the California coast and sunshine—and that’s before visitors enter the resort. Inside the Spa at Terranea, guests are pampered and spoiled with a variety of holistic treatments and beautification rituals, including a sauna, seaweed wrap, rhythmic massage and an outdoor lounge that is filled with visitors staying at the hotel and locals who love to drive down from Los Angeles and escape the frantic pace of the urban sprawl. This is an especially popular place for couples to visit as it makes them feel together but secluded from the rest of the world.
