DeVotchka to Headline Invisible Children Benefit
The fourth annual Invisible Children holiday benefit arrives at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on December 15 with DeVotchKa, local favorite White Arrows and more.
The proceeds from the concert this year will be donated to Come Home For the Holidays, Invisible Children’s holiday campaign that aims to encourage LRA fighters in the Congo to return home instead of fighting.
Denver-based, four-piece multi-instrumental ensemble DeVotchKa has toured with Dita Von Teese and Muse and the band’s music has been featured in films such as Everything is Illuminated and Little Miss Sunshine. L.A. dance-rock quintet White Arrows, indie-pop foursome The Colourist and folk rock solo artist Whispertown are also on the bill for the benefit.
The event is curated by Chop Shop Music and presented by 89.9 KCRW. Tickets are for sale on the Troubadour’s website, and are $25 each. Jon Contino has designed limited-edition posters, for sale and given to the first 50 attendees the night of the show.
