Have you ever found yourself a bit grossed out after giving your dog a wash in the same bathtub that you use? Some homeowners find that lingering wet dog scent and dog hair caked to the side of the tub too much to bear.
This is why the veteran homebuilders at Standard Pacific Homes have recently launched an entire series of homes that cater to the needs of pet owners and dogs owners especially.
Standard Pacific Homes are currently building and selling homes in 27 of their 190 developments nationwide, including their Seattle communities, each with the option of adding a pet suite.
The most extravagant option includes a 170-square-foot pet suite with a step-in wash station, a leash lead, a handheld wash station, tile walls and floors, a drying area with a commercial sized pet dryer and a water station. As if this weren’t enough, the suite also features automated feeders, a bunk-style bed, a toy cabinet, a stackable washer and dryer, a French door that opens to a puppy run, as well as a flat-screen TV.
The company got the idea to start offering pet suites after conducting a series of surveys concerning livability and homeowners needs, where pets were a consistent theme in homeowner responses.
Many real estate professionals have stated that homes that include entire pet suites is a fairly new concept, but that remodels for pets has been a fairly popular trend for quite some time. These have included additions like open shelves at the end of a kitchen island to store bowls or toys.
If a pet suite in your home sounds intriguing you should keep your eyes peeled for a Standard Pacific grand opening of one of these homes. Many homeowners have even brought their dogs to check out the suite.
