Los-angeles-clubs

The nightclub scene in Los Angeles can be very fickle. Because of the celebrity, culture many businesses want to seem exclusive while still attracting a large crowd. For this reason, many people assume it would never be possible to go to certain nightclubs, but that is often not the case. Armed with the right information, it’s possible to get access to most clubs in Los Angeles.

The most important thing to know about the L.A. nightclub scene is what is currently hot. The major club hub for the Los Angeles area is Hollywood and the usual shelf life of any given club is about 6 months to a year. After that a new buyer will change the name, décor, mood and turn the club into a completely different venue. Naturally, the ‘cool’ places to party are ever changing.

The best way to know where everyone is going is to watch celebrities. Gossip websites provide the knowledge of where the rich and famous party and on what nights. Anywhere an article highlights a stumbling startlet leaving the club at 2am is a guaranteed hot spot. Simply search the story for important details. A large crowd of paparazzi in front of a club is also a good indicator.

Even though the nightlife scene is expected to change constantly, there are a few venues that have become staples in the Los Angeles experience. Chateau Marmont in Hollywood has served as an easy escape from the lifestyles of the rich and famous for over 50 years. The pool and adjacent bungalows continue to be one of Hollywood’s best-guarded secrets. Everyone else who can’t get inside can rub elbows with the celebrity crowd at Bar Marmont, which boasts the authentic “Old Hollywood” feel. Hit up this hot spot on any weekend night to experience simple, laid back decadence and probably a peek at a few celebrities enjoying some drinks.

One of the more modern venues in town is the Standard, Downtown Los Angeles. Located in the center of the concrete jungle, this is truly a place to experience Los Angeles like no other. The heated rooftop pool is open everyday, providing a good option for daytime parties. Weekend nights, the party really gets going with DJs, movies projected off the walls of surrounding buildings and one of the most unique views of the city skyline.

On the West Side, The Townhouse is located just steps away from Venice Beach is the place to be. A local hot spot for over 30 years, The Townhouse was actually a speakeasy back in the 1920s. It holds true to that theme today with burlesque and comedy shows in the basement. Any night of the week can be fun with an eclectic and friendly crowd.
