This Spring Break: Discover LA with a Top Stylist’s Guide to Shopping Like a Celebrity:

Noone knows LA fashion better than celebrity stylist and E! Network style expert Nicole Pollard. As the founder of Beverly Hills based styling firm, LalaLuxe and a Los Angeles native herself, Ms. Pollard is no stranger to shopping for celebrities. “Shopping for a celebrity is always exciting because they want the next big thing” says Nicole, ” and it’s my job to ensure they get it.” “I keep my finger on the pulse of every new or trending boutique in LA. I know what designers they carry and more importantly, who shops there.”

We recently caught up with Ms. Pollard and got a few recommendations on where celebrities shop in Los Angeles.
DASH
The DASH clothing LA store, formerly known as DASH Calabasas, opened its Los Angeles location in the summer of 2012.  DASH was started by the Kardashian family and made famous by their smash hit reality show “Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s.”  Due to the success of the show, they relocated their boutique to Los Angeles so that it would be more accessible.  Since it’s opening, it has become a hot spot for celebrity sightings.  Mainly, of course, the Kardashian sisters themselves who have become some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood.
Joes Jeans
Los Angeles is home to one of the most popular denim brands in the world, JOE’S Jeans.  Created in 2001 by founder and creative director, Joe Dahan, JOE’S Jeans started as a small denim company.  Since it’s inception, JOE’S Jeans has grown from a small company to a global brand.   With over 30 styles, JOE’S offers a comfortable, hip and innovative take on denim.  Celebrities such as, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gisele Bundchen, Zoe Saldana and Cameron Diaz are just a few of the celebrities who are absolutely devoted to this brand.

Marc by Marc Jacobs
Marc Jacobs is one of the most legendary fashion designers of the last 20 years.  After the success of his first company bearing his name, Marc Jacobs decided to start a secondary line called Marc by Marc Jacobs.  With similar patterns and styles, Marc by Marc Jacobs is a younger, fresher take on his signature style with a more affordable price point.  Whether you are looking for a great travel cross body bag, a funky key chain or a dress for your cousin’s wedding, Marc by Marc Jacobs is the place to go.  Marc Jacobs always has his finger on the pulse of popular culture.  For example, he just collaborated with Miley Cyrus on a t-shirt line and is also featuring Miley in his new Marc Jacobs ad campaign.  He has many loyal followers including Jessica Alba and Victoria Beckham, both of whom are style icons.
Fred Segal Melrose
Fred Segal is a Los Angeles staple for fashion and beauty.  Fred Segal started the world’s first jean-only store in 1960.  He is solely responsible for creating accessible designer denim, and brought a new take on casual fashion.  With only two locations in Los Angeles, Fred Segal’s reputation and status far exceeds the limited amount of boutiques.  You may have heard this famous store being referenced in such movies as Clueless and Legally Blonde.  Fred Segal isn’t just a clothing boutique.  They carry shoes, handbags, jewelry and beauty products.  They also have a fabulous cafe where many celebrities have been seen meeting for lunch and shopping.  Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Rihanna are just a few who frequent here.
Kitson
Founded by Fraser Ross in 2000, Kitson opened on Robertson Boulevard (home to The Ivy) in Los Angeles.  Kitson is a unique store because it is filled with fun and crazy trends that are so current, you’ll be amazed that they are even in stores yet.  Kitson carries exclusive brands like Homies, Boy London, Bleulab, and more.  Kitson became famous when the paparazzi started waiting outside the store for frequent shoppers Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.  When you leave Kitson with the famous blue bags in hand, you’ll be sure to stir some attention.

Chanel Rodeo Drive
Coco Chanel created the first women’s brand boutique in 1921 in Paris, France.  She started as a milliner (hat maker) and expanded her brand to design clothing, jewelry and her signature fragrance Chanel no. 5.  Coco Chanel is one of the most influential women in Fashion, and her brand has become one of the most exclusive, sought after brands in the world.  Chanel is one of the original fashion houses, and buying a Chanel handbag is a right of passage in the fashion world.  Placed in the center of Rodeo Drive, Chanel maintains its exclusivity with a pristine black and white exterior and stunning window displays of women dripping in Chanel pearls, diamonds and rare handbags.  With a limited amount of Chanel boutiques in the US, ending out tour at Chanel is the perfect way to experience the luxurious shopping experience fit for a celebrity.  When anyone compliments your gorgeous new handbag, you can say “I bought it at the Chanel boutique on Rodeo Drive” and instantly you achieve celebrity status.  If you can’t afford the handbag, don’t worry!  Chanel has a beauty department fit for a princess.  Buy a nail polish in any of the rich colors they have to offer ($27) and have it gift wrapped in their signature wrapping with the Camilla flower on the bag.
Miley Cyrus has been seen wearing Chanel with almost every outfit and now we see why.  It looks as though she has a Chanel addiction, and can we blame her? Ariana Grande, Black Lively and Katy Perry are among the many starlets seen shopping at Chanel.
“Dress Shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the women.” – Coco Chanel
