After a 20-year run in its Sunset Strip location, the House of Blues announced that it will be closing, according to reports. The live music venue that has been an LA establishment since 1994 is slated to be torn down in 2015 to make way for a hotel and condos.
But the shows must, and will, go on. Even though the House of Blues will no longer occupy its original Sunset Strip space, they will be relocating to another LA location. During the transition, the House of Blues aims to continue business as usual and assures that the music will not be interrupted in any way.
The scheduled closure is just one in a list of developments planned for the area. The historic Tiffany Theater and Hustler Hollywood will also be turned into hotel complexes.
This may sound like bad news as far as entertainment and culture are concerned, but it’s not all terrible. The complex taking the place of the House of Blues will include an events venue for concerts and the Tiffany Theater site will have shops and restaurants.
