Oktoberfest-feat

One of the best parts of fall is the German tradition of Oktoberfest, and there are plenty of options to celebrate in LA with food, drinks, culture and, of course, plenty of beer.

Here is a list of some of the best Oktoberfest events happening around LA this year. Prost!

Sept. 8 – Oct 27: OldWorld Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest in Orange County kicks off at OldWorld in Huntington Beach with a month and a half of food, craft beers, live entertainment, music and the traditional OldWorld Oktoberfest Parade on September 29th. Families can also get into the fun with kid friendly activities and cultural entertainment. Proceeds also go to a good cause: The Therapeutic Riding Center.

Sept. 13 – Oct. 27: The Alpine Village
Touted as the biggest Oktoberfest celebration in Southern California, The Alpine Village in Torrance is a little piece of Bavaria transplanted to the Southland. Brew lovers can sample the best craft beers as well as imported German beers from Munich and other specialty brew areas. Besides filling your stein, you can also fill your plate with traditional fare including bratwurst, pretzels and other popular dishes. Live entertainment celebrates German music and more modern culture at Club Berlin.

Sept. 13 – Oct. 27: Phoenix Club Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest in Anaheim kicks off September 13 and runs for 7 weekends with German cuisine, beers, music and a Biergarten. Traditional live bands perform and each weekend has themed beer and brat contests.

Sept. 21: The Wurst Oktoberfest Party with Adam Gertler
Those with a more refined palate can join celebrity chef Adam Gertler for a one night only pop-up Oktoberfest party at Barsha’s Wine and Spirits tasting room in Manhattan Beach. He will feature four gourmet sausages and craft beers from The Dudes’ Brewing Co. Getler’s pork cheddar Uber Kase wurst and The Dude’s Brewing Co. Grandma’s brown ale look especially delectable.

Sept. 21 – Oct. 26: Wirtshaus Oktoberfest
One of the best is mid-city German establishment, Wirtshaus, celebrates Oktoberfest with the tapping of a free ceremonial keg and traditional Bavarian music and entertainment for the weekends during their month-long celebration.

Sept. 26: Autumn Equinox – A Fall Harvest of Beer
The “fall harvest of beer” in Redondo Beach is a comprehensive class and tasting for beer fans. There are plenty of fall beer styles including Oktoberfest Lager and Pumpkin Ale.

Sept. 28: Semtemberfest
Event company Eat, Drink, Play is putting on their own “American” version of Oktoberfest, but the themes are pretty much the same: beer, food and live entertainment. More than 150 beers and food trucks will be featured as well as live music and plenty of other entertainment.

Oct. 10: Downtown Burbank Oktoberfest
Downtown Burbank welcomes Oktoberfest event with craft beer and German dishes from local eateries. A beer garden will be set up on San Fernando Boulevard near downtown and festival goers can sample plenty of beers, food and enjoy live music and entertainment.

Oct. 15: BAM Fest (Beer, Art and Music Festival)
Also holding their own version of Oktoberfest, the BAM Fest (Beer, Art and Music Festival) is returning to Santa Monica for their 4th year of craft beer, art and live music. This year, more than 40 craft breweries, four wineries, two art exhibitions as well and four bands will greet attendees.

Oct. 19-20: Oktoberfest at Link N Hops
A craft beer and sausage joint is the perfect place for an Oktoberfest celebration and the guys behind Link N Hops in Atwater Village agree. They are hosting a two-day Oktoberfest celebration with seasonal specialty beers from local breweries and their special version of Bavarian food favorites: sausages and Belgian fries. A presale ticket will get attendees six tasters of their choice of brews and a selection of food.They will also offer gluten free and vegan options.

Oct. 25-27: Los Angeles Oktoberfest
Los Angeles Oktoberfest brings DJs, Bavarian dancers, contests and live entertainment to DTLA. Club fans can dance the night away at Oktoberfest club nights with beer maidens and live music.
