One of LA’s most unique attractions, Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the final resting place for some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, drawing thousands of visitors every year while still operating as an active cemetery. It’s also one of the most unique venues in LA with regular night time events, including concerts and classic movie screenings.

Not for the easily spooked, the events at Hollywood Forever encourage guests to park by the ominous tombstones and wander in the darkness by the departed (much like Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion ride) to either the Masonic Lodge at the entrance or to the Fairbanks Lawn.

Performances inside the Masonic Lodge benefit from the eerie, yet enchanting atmosphere of the space. The venue’s high-vaulted ceilings provide incredible acoustics for a hauntingly clear and booming sound, while its gothic chandeliers and dark furniture contribute to the uniquely mesmerizing feel.

The Masonic Lodge has recently hosted singer-songwriter Priscilla Ahn and the Comedy is Dead show featuring famous comedians Maria Bamford, Matt Besser, Steve Agee and Andy Kindler. In the coming weeks, Christopher Owens, Phantogram and Earth will perform at the cemetery before it ends its summer season.

Outside, Cinespia hosts movies on the lawn by the resting place of actor Douglas Fairbanks, who is best known for his roles in Robin Hood and The Mark of Zorro during the 1920s. Many of the films shown at the cemetery are Hollywood classics to accompany the locale, including the upcoming showings of The Outsiders and and A Clockwork Orange.
