After rumors of a Prince tour with stops in LA were announced yesterday, promoters at the City National Grove of Anaheim just announced that he will perform there in May.

With tickets starting at $200
, the price isn’t cheap for those looking for access to the shows on May 7 and May 8, but it could be worth it for an intimate encounter with one of the biggest stars in pop culture. The announcement follows Prince’s performance at SXSW, where he played a three-hour set in front of 300 people with his 20-piece band. The venue in Anaheim can accommodate 1,700 attendees.

The nine-city tour hits mostly small and mid-sized venues with Prince’s new all-female band 3RDEYEGIRL. The band leaked the information yesterday on a fan website, but this is the first official word from a promoter or venue.
