Tickets for the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers six-night stand at the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood go on sale this month and we’re celebrating with the band’s top five music video moments.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers return to the stage to play the six-night residency at the Fonda between June 3 and June 11 as part of the band’s 2013 summer tour with other stops in New York, Minneapolis and Pittsburgh.
This will be the Heartbreakers’ first LA performance since 2011, when they played at the Plaza del Sol Performance Hall at Cal State Northridge to benefit local radio station KCSN.
Although the band originated in Gainesville, FL, it wasn’t until an epic cross country journey to relocated LA that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers struck musical gold and earned international fame with hits like “American Girl,” “Refugee,” “Free Falling,” and later, “Mary Jane’s Last Dance”
The tour comes as the band takes a break from the studio, where they are currently recording a new album set for release in 2014, Petty’s first album since 2010’s critically acclaimed record Mojo.
The Heartbreakers chose the Fonda Theater as part of a continued effort to perform at smaller, intimate venues. Fans have been lucky enough to catch the band at smaller venues like The Fillmore in San Francisco and The Vic in Chicago. LA residents will now have the same opportunity as Petty and the Heartbreakers’ hang around for six shows in June.
Tickets for the LA shows go on sale on March 22. Find tickets for the shows and other concerts on the LosAngeles.com ticketing page.
