The entertainment capital of the world heats up this week with lots of interesting events and activities to couples, families and adventurers alike. Head on over to Hollywood to enjoy any of the items on this carefully curated list of things to do in LA this week.
WHAT TO DO IN LA:
Helicopter Tour of Celebrity Homes
Thrill seekers will get an adrenaline rush as they fly over the opulent estates of the rich and famous. While many choose to explore the city by foot or bus, a helicopter tour will give visitors a closer look at the Hollywood sign and the sprawling dwellings of the city’s elite.
LA Club Crawl
Rather than settling on one club for an outing, then waiting in line and paying a cover charge, visitors can embark on a guided LA Club Crawl to experience three different venues in a night (and forget about lines and cover charges).
June 15: Brazilian Summer Festival
The 21st Annual Brazilian Summer Festival at the Ford Theatre promises to be an exhilarating night of dancing, music and costumes that beckon for crowd participation.
WHAT TO SEE IN LA:
June 10-29: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Musical storytelling and stunning costume design, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Hollywood Pantages is an updated family-friendly version of the 1970s stage classic. For a complete list of shows playing in LA visit our theater calendar.
June 14-15: Playboy Jazz Festival
Already in its 36th year, the Playboy Jazz Festival is one of the biggest music events of the summer. It’s hosted by George Lopez and includes performances by Dianne Reeves, Jamie Cullum, George Benson and Jose James.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum
Many things in LA may seem unbelievable, like the authentic tacos and the view from the top of Mount Lee, but the finds at Ripley’s Believe It or Not are downright mind-boggling. After spending a couple of hours discovering shrunken heads and vampire killing kits, the man in the Spongebob Squarepants costume across the street won’t seem so strange.
WHERE TO EAT:
June 12: Hollywood Sites and Bites Food Tour
Perfect for those who can’t decide on just one trendy restaurant, the Hollywood Sites and Bites Food Tour by Tourific Escapes takes guests on a guided walk through the historic Roosevelt Hotel and Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, then down to Melrose Avenue and the Sunset Strip for food samples at the best spots in the area.
Comfort Food and Cigars at State Social House
Nowhere else in Hollywood can food, drinks and cigars be enjoyed in one place. At State Social House, Chef Vernon Cardenas enhances familiar dishes with innovative ingredients so diners can experiment with their palates while unwinding in the adjoining Backroom smoker’s lounge.
