About "Save Me"

Love Triangles and Indecent Drama in "Save Me"

Utilizing Henrik Ibsen's 19th-century Norwegian play "Hedda Gabler" as its source material, theater company Lucid by Proxy presents "Save Me", a modern re-imagining of the classic piece of theatrical realism. This contemporary dramatic work tells the story of Hedda, a recently married woman who finds herself bored by everything after returning home from her European honeymoon. Hedda is bored by her husband's affection. She's even bored by the advances of the men who still pursue her. The only thing that excites her anymore is controlling the fates of others -- a predilection that sends Hedda down a path leading to a secret love triangle and a fight for sanity. Using a soulful soundtrack, actor-driven movement pieces and classical storytelling, "Save Me" is a visceral exploration of one woman's winding journey through life.
